Laid-Off Walmart Workers Head to Labor Board
Last week, Walmart closed five of its stores in California leaving left 2,200 workers jobless with no warning. Today, these workers went to the National Labor Relations Board in an effort to have an injunction placed on Walmart that would require the company to rehire all of the laid-off employees. The workers claim the stores were closed in an effort to prevent unionization, but the retailer claims there were plumbing issues in the stores.
