South Korea Says North Drops Demand for Wage Hike at Joint Factory Park
South Korea and North Korea currently operate the joint factory park Kaesong just across the North Korean border. While the two countries have agreed to pay back wages owed to factory workers, North Korea recently dropped its demands for a wage hike for these employees. South Korea currently employs approximately 53,000 of those factory workers. North Korea was demanding a wage increase for its workers to $74 a month.
