Protest for $15 an Hour Planned Ahead of McDonald's Meeting
On Thursday of this week, McDonald's is scheduled to hold its annual shareholders meeting. Today, employees of the company plan to start a two-day strike demanding a wage increase to $15 an hour. Workers have been demanding this wage floor since 2012. So far, McDonald's has only agreed to increase wages to $1 over the local minimum wages for all of its employees.
