Whole Foods workers demand better conditions
Today, Whole Foods employees are engaging in a sick-out across the country in order to demand greater pay and protections, during the coronavirus pandemic. Whole Workers, the labor group orchestrating the sick-out is using the demonstration as a way to send a message to Amazon regarding the need for hazard pay and protective equipment. Recently, the firm terminated an employee at an Amazon warehouse who was staying home after contact with a co-worker diagnosed with coronavirus- a New York Attorney has asked the NLRB to investigate this case.
