Instacart Workers Lack Safety Supplies
During the COVID-19 pandemic, order for groceries on the app Instacart have skyrocketed. In March, Instacart workers staged a nationwide strike, demanding sick leave, hazard pay, and basic disinfection supplies. Instacart ignored most of those demands, except for one. On April 2, it agreed to provide its shoppers with complimentary health and safety kits that would contain a reusable cloth face mask, a bottle of hand sanitizer, and a forehead thermometer. However, workers haven't received the health and safety kits yet.
