Working From Home Poses Hurdles for Employees of Color
With fewer connections and less extensive networks than white colleagues, Black and Hispanic workers can find themselves more isolated than ever in a world of Zoom calls and virtual forums. Assignments often in this situation can end up flowing to people who look more like top managers while workers of color hesitate to raise their voices during online meetings. Additionally, in the midst of the pandemic many companies have had to make budget cuts to various departments and initiatives, and often the first department to go is a company diversity and inclusion recruiting initiatives.
