The Key to Building Less-Biased Artificial Intelligence
Artificial intelligence is a very controversial topic in today's society, especially regarding it usage in the workplace. Recently, artificial intelligence has been implicated in numerous workplace scandals as many artificial intelligence robots have been proven to be biased. However, recent research has found that the source of the bias in artificial bias stems from the lack of diversity in the workforce that creates and programs artificial intelligence. As artificial intelligence is becoming a method of recruitment that is increasingly used by companies such as Target, Hilton, and Linkedin to hire candidates during the pandemic it is crucial that its biases are rectified. Experts have asserted that the most promising way to increase diversity in the tech industry, and thus tackle the inherent bias in many artificial intelligence programs, is to transition to more project based assessments in the hiring process.
