JetBlue Announces Cost-Cutting Measures
JetBlue Airways on Tuesday laid out a host of cost reductions for next year as the worsening coronavirus pandemic promises another difficult year for airlines. Top executives’ will continued to receive reduced salaries going into 2021, and the airline will pause merit raises for most employees. The airline’s nonunionized front-line workers will escape furloughs through at least Sept. 30, 2021. And, JetBlue will discuss options with union leadership for unionized employees, such as flight attendants and pilots, to secure jobs under a second round of federal aid, if lawmakers come to an agreement.
