Employers can help boost vaccination rates with paid time off
Recent studies are showing that employers who encourage their workforce to receive the COVID-19 vaccine in addition to offering monetary incentives will boost vaccination rates. When employees choose to get vaccinated, they want assurance that they will not be penalized by taking the time to do so. The Kaiser Family Foundation’s findings suggest that employers should offer paid time off to get the vaccine and recover from side effects. This recommendation is in alignment with President Biden’s call in April for all employers to offer workers this option. Employers who encourage their employees to get the vaccine and offer paid time off or other monetary incentives will aid in increasing vaccination rates.
