NYC DA employees are suing for unpaid wages while working from home
A NYC case discovery analyst (CDA) has proposed a collective action lawsuit against the NYC Law Department claiming that CDAs were not paid overtime in violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act. NYC DA offices sent CDAs to work from home in April. Instead of 8-hour daily shifts, they were assigned 10-15 cases to complete each week and were required to work when convenient for those involved in the cases. The complainant claims he worked as late as 3 a.m. and up to 73 hours a week without receiving overtime pay. He is seeking unpaid wages and liquidated damages.
