McDonalds announced that employees at company-owned locations would see a raise in pay amounting to $15 an hour by 2024 prompting workers and franchisees to speak out. Franchisee location wages are not regulated by the company although McDonalds says they encourage their franchisees to follow their lead with wage increases. Workers feel that they all deserve a living wage, and all stores need to provide that whether they are a franchise or corporate store.
