New York City announces they will mandate vaccines for all public-school teachers
On Monday, New York City mayor Bill de Blasio announced a flat-out vaccination mandate for public school teachers and other staffers. It is unclear if there will be exemptions or what the penalty will be for refusing. This policy overrides their previous announcement that teachers would have to get vaccinated or test weekly. In a poll by The Associated Press, it was found that six and ten Americans believe that students and teachers should wear face masks in schools and, if eligible, be vaccinated.
