U.S. Senators call for an investigation of Amazon
Six U.S. senators are calling for the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission to investigate Amazon. In their letter they said that the EEOC should investigate whether “Amazon systemically denies reasonable accommodations for pregnant employees at its fulfillment centers.” The letter was cosigned by 6 democratic senators including Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren. The letter cites several lawsuits and at least two instances where pregnant women were denied requests for reassignment or lighter duty.
