CVS workers bring new demands to their contract negotiation
CVS workers across California are demanding increased pay and safety standards as well as more affordable health care in their new union contract negotiations. Over 6,700 CVS workers represented by The United Food and Commercial Workers union signed a petition supporting these demands. CVS has offered a 5 cent raise which workers feel is inadequate given that the company made over $7 billion in profit in 2020 and that some full-time employees are facing cuts of up to 25% of their weekly scheduled hours. Employees also say that a lack of workers has made CVS a target for anti-maskers and the lack of safety protocol in their stores is unacceptable.
