Stellantis offering employees buyouts in a move to electric vehicles
Stellantis, formerly known as Fiat Chrysler, is looking to buyout employees in their move toward electric vehicles. The automaker announced to its employees that they are offering voluntary buyouts to U.S. non-union salaried employees who are eligible for a pension. The company denied disclosing how many employees they are looking to buyout but say that this move is to help assist in their transition as a “market leader in low emission vehicles.” Other automakers like Ford Motor and GM have also announced employee buyouts in recent years.
