Many workers are not returning to the office in New York City
Workers in New York City are not returning to the office and experts say that in 5 to 10 years times the economic and tax dependence of the city is in question. According to a new survey only 28% of Manhattan office workers are back at their desks and the 188 employers surveyed said that they expect only 49% of office workers will return on an average weekday basis by January. Experts say this is due to the move to remote work now causing huge office vacancy rates in New York City with it currently being at a 30 year high of 18.6%.
