Louisiana parish pays employees COVID-19 relief
Ouachita parish school system’s superintendent announced that all employees will be receiving COVID-19 relief pay. The school district had been given around $72 million from the federal government for COVID-19 relief, none of which workers saw. The district will be allotting $5 million from the third round of the Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief Fund to give every full-time employee in the school system a COVID-19 relief check. All workers, regardless of job title or certification status, will receive a onetime payment of $1,500.
