The Kentucky Mayfield Consumer Products candle factory that was destroyed by a tornado in early December will be closing its doors and laying employees off. The company says that they will be offering half their employees the opportunity to transfer to a new plant opening in the nearby town of Hickory. Since there will not be room for all employees at the Hickory Plant, the remaining 250 workers will be laid off permanently.
