Iowa ordered to pay a union $2 million
State court judge Paul Scott has ordered that the state of Iowa pay nearly $2 million to a labor union representing state workers. This case was centered on a state law change from 2017 surrounding the state deducting union dues from state worker paychecks. The state will have to pay $1.05 million for the dues, nearly $412,000 for back pay, and nearly $487,000 in overtime pay.
