MLB contract talks make little progress as game season looms
Opening Day is set for March 31at, but MLB may have to start canceling games if an agreement isn’t reached with the Major League Baseball Players Association (MLBPA). On Thursday, after their fourth straight day of negotiations this week, the MLBPA offered more tweaks to their proposal. Unfortunately, no real progress was made on the big issues preventing the agreement. The two sides hugely disagree on issues of competitive balance tax, new player pay, and salary arbitration.
