MLB extends deadline to reach an agreement with the MLBPA
Reports say that MLB has extended their self-imposed deadline to reach a labor agreement with the MLBPA to Tuesday at 5:00 PM. The previously set deadline was Monday but both sides were at the negotiation table for more than 16 hours and did not reach an agreement on Monday. MLB has said if a deal is not reached by the new deadline, they may have to cancel games which would shorten their typical 162 game season. MLB reports that some progress has been made and they're optimistic that they are nearing an agreement.
