MLB and the MLBPA have struck a deal
On Thursday, Major League Baseball and the MLBPA reached a deal for a new collective bargaining agreement. MLB announced to fans that Opening Day is now set for April 7th. Players will begin spring training camp on Sunday, ending their nearly 100-day lockout. The MLBPA said in a statement, “Our union endured the second-longest work stoppage in its history to achieve significant progress in key areas that will improve not just current players’ rights and benefits, but those of generations to come.”
