Former employee sues Google, claiming widespread racial discrimination
On Friday a former Google employee filed a lawsuit against the company in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California in San Jose, seeking class-action status. The complainant, April Curly, claims that Google systemically discriminated against black workers and that they have engaged in a nationwide pattern of intentional racial discrimination. Among her claims is that black employees were routinely hired in lower job statuses than appropriate with their experience, hazed during the interview process to ensure poor performance, and routinely subjected to hostile work environments.
