Call center workers go on strike for better pay and benefits
Call center workers in Mississippi and Louisiana who handle Medicare issues went on a one-day strike Wednesday. The employees when on strike on the anniversary of the Affordable Care Act calling for better health insurance, competitive wages, and paid sick leave. An organizer for the CWA union said, “These workers are helping American citizens get access to affordable health care every day, and they have a really unaffordable health care plan.”
