California grocery workers vote yes to striking if needed
Amidst contract negotiations with grocery stores in Southern California owned by Kroger Co and Albertsons Companies Inc, about 48,000 workers have voted to strike if needed. The union and the grocers are set to resume bargaining on Wednesday and the union told workers they will be notified if talks fail. Ralphs said, they hope the union “will return to the bargaining table with renewed interest in reaching a balanced deal.” The union has said that if a strike does occur, they will have a strike benefit fund available to support their members.
