Howard University hospital workers plan to strike
Next week, hundreds of workers at Howard University hospital in Washington, D.C. plan to go on strike for a day. The District of Columbia Nurses Association that is representing these workers said they will be striking due to understaffing and underpayment. The strike is scheduled to take place on April 11th at 7:30 AM. The union and the hospital have been negotiating a new contract since the old one had expired in November, but hospital management walked away from the bargaining table in mid-February.
