On Wednesday, democratic senators told a crowd of workers rallying to bring attention to their pending mass layoffs, that they have secured funding to prevent the layoffs. Senators Elizabeth Warren and Amy Klobuchar said they will be using $3.75 million from COVID relief funds to prevent the layoffs. Although there is confusion about whether this funding is a done deal as the company employing the cafeteria workers said they have not received confirmation that they will be receiving this additional funding.
