Starbucks workers protest the company’s harsh union-busting campaign
On Friday, Starbucks workers across the country protested the recent uptick in aggressive anti-union activities. Since the assignment of Howard Schultz as the company’s new CEO on April 4th, at least four pro-union workers have been fired. Many workers who walked off the job claim that Starbucks is engaging in union busting activities that amount to unfair labor practices. Starbucks Workers United says the company is spreading misinformation with anti-union posters in stores, slashing hours despite high profits, and making new policies up as a preface for retaliation against pro-union workers.
