Some Massachusetts workers will receive $500 payments in June
Massachusetts is set to send a second round of $500 payments to low-income workers. In March, half a million workers received their first round of payments based on their 2020 tax returns. In this second round about 330,000 workers will get the payment. These payments are all part of the Essential Employee Premium Pay Program funded by the American Rescue Plan Act. The eligibility criteria for this round will be pretty much the same except it will be determined by 2021 state tax returns and those who received the payment the first time around will not be eligible this time.
