Rising layoffs stir some fears amongst workers despite strong job market
A recent survey conducted by the Harris Poll indicates some changing sentiments amongst workers regarding the current labor market. Despite positive gains for workers in certain industries during the pandemic regarding remote work and other increased benefits, the survey's responses show that many employees believe companies now wield greater leverage in the job market. These responses coincide with the increase in layoffs at companies like Apple and Peloton as well as the high inflation affecting the economy. However, the survey also demonstrates that there are many American employees who remain confident in the job market's strength.
