High inflation and cost of living in the UK cause thousands of postal and telecom workers to strike
On Wednesday, thousands of postal workers went on strike in the UK to protest the rising pace of inflation and lack of adequate compensation to meet subsequent increased living costs. Royal Mail has reported that it offered a pay raise to workers that the union rejected. Meanwhile, the Communication Workers Union has expressed frustration with Royal Mail for not raising wages enough to offset the burden of inflation as well as frustration with the high inflation in general. These frustrations are being felt by many workers across the UK, and there are more strikes being planned to take place throughout the month of September across different industries.
