Job growth continues despite high inflation in US economy
Recent data from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics indicates the continued strength of the labor market as hundreds of thousands of jobs were added in August. This job growth is mainly occurring in the professional and business industries, as well as in health care and retail. While the US labor market has grown beyond pre-pandemic levels, the overall economy is slowing down due to inflation and decreases in economic output, and it is unclear how much longer the labor market will remain hot.
