Container workers in the UK to go on two-week strike, potentially exacerbating supply chain disruptions
On Monday, workers at one of the largest container ports in the UK will begin a two-week long strike. The workers at the Port of Liverpool rejected a pay raise offer from their employer, claiming that the port owners could and should pay them more to offset the extremely high inflation and cost of living. This industrial action could potentially disrupt supply chains in the UK, and the port's chief operating officer expressed disappointment that despite long negotiations, an agreement has not been made.
