Workers at Detroit staffing agency who were misclassified as independent contractors to receive back pay
The US Department of Labor recently recovered necessary back pay for workers who were illegally misclassified as independent contractors by their employer, LTL Staffing and Business Solutions. Workers were denied overtime wages they had earned as well as benefits such as unemployment insurance. The Wage and Hour Division of the DOL announced that misclassifications of employees are a major concern of the department.
