Airport ground workers at JetBlue looking to follow other airline workers and join a union
The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) announced on Friday that it will be filing an application on behalf of the thousands of JetBlue ground workers who are interested in joining the union. This potential unionization may interfere with JetBlue's recent efforts to cut costs. The airline has prided itself on direct relations with its employees, however, as the majority of US airlines have become unionized there has been increasing pressure toward unionization at JetBlue.
