Increases in labor activity signal the return of "Striketober" as workers demand better pay and work conditions
Last October, there was a large wave of strike activity in the US. Given the resurgence of the labor movement this past year, it is likely another "Striketober" will occur. Strike activity is on the rise across the country as workers are frustrated by the persistent effects from the pandemic and the wealth disparities being exacerbated by high inflation. Amidst a tight labor market, many workers desire collective representation to make changes to their workplaces and demand better pay and work conditions.
