Due to stalled labor contract negotiations, public school building and grounds workers threaten to strike in Denver, Colorado
Within the Denver Public Schools, labor negotiations have been dragging on for over a year which has left many workers with an expired contract, stagnant wages, and uncertain work conditions. Many workers have left for other school districts that pay more competitively due to the high cost of living in Denver, and the workers who remain are seeking higher wages. As a result, the Association for Building, Grounds, and Warehouse Workers (ABGW) have threated to go on strike if a contract agreement does not happen soon. The workers plan to leverage their essential role in maintain the schools' functions and safety.
