According to recent data, lack of pay transparency legislation in many states has caused US workers to reject job offers and waste their time
Recent data from a survey of US workers has indicated that amidst the tight labor market, more than half of job seekers have been rejecting job offers based on the proposed salary. Furthermore, the data indicates that job seekers have unknowingly wasted hours of time applying to jobs that don't meet their salary needs. As a result, workers are advised to conduct ample research and utilize pay transparency websites like Glassdoor and Indeed before applying to jobs without posted salary ranges. Since NYC recently enacted its pay transparency law, joining a few other states with similar legislation, there has been a larger focus on the topic of pay transparency in both the workplace and job application process.
