Nurses in the UK expected to vote in favor of large strike action as they experience overwork and low pay
In the UK, a large strike action led by nurses is expected to occur soon. These nurses have been motivated to strike due to understaffing that has left them overworked and insufficient wages that have failed to meet rising costs of living. Many young nurses are in support of such a labor action as they have reported the level of stress and responsibility of the job is not being fairly compensated. Despite concerns about putting patients at risk and pleas from the government not to strike, the pro-strike nurses have responded by referencing the severity of the current problems as unnecessary mistakes and improper patient care have been occurring in the workplace due to the staffing pressures.
