Workers take to the streets in Greece in a general strike to protest low wages and high inflation
In Greece, tens of thousands of workers have taken to the streets in a general strike to protest insufficient wages amidst inflation. This 24-hour strike action is the second one to occur this year, and workers across various industries are demanding wage increases to help make housing more affordable. Similarly, there have been various other strike actions recently across Europe in response to workers' frustration with inflationary economic pressures. However, the Greek economy has been grappling with high inflation and debt crisis for nearly a decade, which has further exacerbated rising prices resulting from Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
