Production workers at Nickelodeon seeking better wages push for union recognition
Last month, nearly 200 production workers at Nickelodeon voted in favor of unionizing and joining the Animation Guild. These workers are seeking pay raises to help meet the high cost of living in LA. However, Nickelodeon has yet to recognize the production workers as part of the Animation Guild, and the company has been resistant to including them in the existing union agreement which covers artists and writers at Nickelodeon. In response, the production workers organizing have expressed their affinity for their jobs and workplace, calling on Nickelodeon to voluntarily recognize their union status.
