Thousands of postal workers in the UK on strike over pay dispute, disrupting holiday deliveries
On Friday, over a hundred thousand postal workers went on strike, marking the beginning of a series of strikes that will continue throughout the holiday season. These strike actions are impacting holiday mail deliveries, and people in the UK have been advised to expect delays in their mailings. Recently, contract negotiations between Royal Mail and the Communications Workers Union (CWU) have reached a standstill as the union refuses to back down on its demands for a pay raise that will adequately address the persistently rising cost of living in the UK. In addition to the strikes, member of the CWU also plan to demonstrate in front of Parliament today to put pressure on the government and protest high inflation.
