Some US companies are leveraging TikTok influencers as a new method to recruit younger workers
TikTok is an extremely popular social media platform amongst younger audiences, and some companies have begun using this to their advantage as a means of advertising open job positions to those age demographics. For instance, a senior recruiter at Intuit who is also a content creator leverages her platform to build familiarity with candidates and generate interest in the roles. One of the reasons influencers have been successful in helping companies recruit is that they establish trust and credibility with their followers which then signals the same to the jobs they recommend. This introduces a new method of recruiting as companies consider how to best reach their target audiences within the tight US labor market.
