Labor unions in France plan to strike as French government raises the age of retirement
The French government has recently announced that it will be raising the official age of retirement from 62 to 64 as part of a long-awaited pension reform. This decision was made because France spends much more on state-funded pensions that other nations, and there are arguments that such expenditures would not be financially sustainable. However, this legislation has upset labor unions, and as a result strike actions have been called across the country for next week.
