OSHA to fine Amazon after discovering warehouse workers have been exposed to unsafe working conditions
On Wednesday, the Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) issued various citations and fines to Amazon, claiming that workers across three warehouse facilities were exposed to unsafe working conditions. OSHA found that the workers were exposed to ergonomic hazards, such as musculoskeletal disorders, due to the long work hours and strenuous conditions moving packages. Workplace safety concerns have been one of the central motivating factors behind recent unionization attempts at Amazon warehouse facilities across the country. However, the company has denied the use of productivity quotas.
