Despite offering a pay raise, unionized workers at Disney World expected to vote no on management's proposed labor contract
Later this week, tens of thousands of Walt Disney World Resort employees will vote on a labor contract that, if accepted, would represent nearly half of all workers at the resort. Management is offering these full-time employees guaranteed salary raises each year for the length of the five-year contract. However, union representatives have been urging workers to reject the offer because there is no tentative contract agreement accompanying the offer. Furthermore, the various unions implicated in this contract argue that the workers need larger pay raises in order to match the rising costs of living in Florida.
