Meat-packing factory workers sue Tyson Foods company for negligence and unsafe workplace conditions during the pandemic
At the beginning of the COVID pandemic, meat-packing facilities were central hubs for the virus due to the close working conditions on the production lines. As a result, recently, workers from several Tyson Foods facilities in Arkansas have filed a lawsuit against the company claiming that inadequate workplace safety precautions during the early days of the pandemic have led to illness, death, and emotional distress. The workers claim that the Tyson meat-packing plants they worked at did not provide modifications for the virus until months into the pandemic nor did it contract trace or quarantine infected workers. As a result, these workers are seeking monetary damages for the company's negligence.
