Unionization efforts amongst fast food workers met with opposition and backlash from many large fast food companies

For instance, the former CEO of Starbucks, Howard Schultz, is currently testifying in front of Congress regarding his conduct throughout the unionization efforts at Starbucks and alleged union busting tactics. Additionally, after a unionization attempt began at a Chipotle location in Maine, the company illegally closed down the store and has since incurred fines from the NLRB for violating labor law.
