Retail workers reveal rising workplace dangers amidst armed customers and haphazardly packed backrooms
Recently, retail workers have been sharing reports of the increased hazards they have been experiencing in the workplace. Employees at Target and Walmart have said that there are many dangers in the backrooms with regards to inventory because low staffing levels often cause boxes to be haphazardly stacked. Additionally, dangerous customers pose risks to workers, as the number of assaults in retail stores have been on the rise and there have been incidents with customers wielding guns and shoplifting. Reckless drivers in parking lots have also caused some retail workers to be hit by cars. In response to these concerns, Target and Walmart representatives have both affirmed the companies' commitment to the health and safety of its employees.
