Remote work has firmly established its lasting presence in the workforce
Remote work is a trend that will continue even as the effects of the pandemic decline. A significant number of remote workers have not returned to in-person workplaces, and they are making the long-term or permanent shift to working from home. The demographic that is most likely to continue to work remotely is women. The gap between women and men who work from home is increasing, and this could be attributed to women having a greater role in childcare duties. There is also a noticeable difference between college-educated workers and non-college-educated workers who work from home as a significant number of college-educated workers work in professions that provide the flexibility to work remotely.
